I have the honour to refer to correspondence
ending with your despatch No.199 dated 5th June, 1939, regarding the dismissal of R.G. Witchell, late of
Class III, Senior Clerical and Accounting Staff, and
to inform you that R. G. Witchell has returned to
this Colony. He was charged with and pleaded
guilty to six counts of embezzlemcnt by a public servant, and was sentenced to three months hard labour on the first count, three months hard labour
(consecutive) on the second count and three months
hard labour on each of the other counts, the latter
to run concurrently.
